BANGLADESH VISA & WORK PERMIT
Foreign nationals seeking paid employment in Bangladesh must obtain a work permit. These are typically considered for jobs where local experts or technicians are unavailable. If you plan to visit Bangladesh for a vacation, a business trip, to study, work, volunteer, or as an emigrant, you should get up-to-date and accurate information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bangladesh’s official website.
Foreign nationals must have a work permit in order to work in Bangladesh. Private sector industrial enterprises that want to hire foreign nationals must apply to the Bangladesh Board of Investment in advance using the prescribed form.
Bangladesh Work VISA & Permits
In each case, a decision of the board of directors of the concerned company is required for new employment/employment extension. Foreign employees should not exceed 5% of total employees in the industrial sector and 20% in the commercial sector, including top management personnel. Employment of any foreign national is initially considered for a period of two years, which may be extended based on the merits of the case. The Ministry of Home Affairs will provide the required security clearance certificate.
